Skills - Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands Guide - IGN (2024)

As you play through missions in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands, your character will gain XP and boost up in levels. Each level you gain will open up Skill Points that you can spend on various skills for your character. These skills range from increasing the potency of your equipment, bettering your mobility, and even making your drone much more useful.

In addition to gaining levels, you can also discover extra Skill Points while out exploring Bolivia. Skill Points will be hidden everywhere and can be discovered by either finding Intel, speaking with locals, or interrogating enemy lieutenants.

Skills for your character can be purchased and unlocked using Skill Points and resources (Gasoline, Medication, Comms, & Food). Some tiers of skills are only unlocked once you reach a certain level, while others are obtained by boosting up other skills of a given skill tree. Epic skills are unlocked when you have least 1 skill point in all skills of the same branch.

Weapon Skills

Weapon skills are associated with aiming weapons and using extra accessories.

Stable Aim - Adds extra stability when using a sniper scope.

Hip Fire Spread - Reduces bullet spray when firing weapons from the hip.

Grenade Launcher - An optional underbarrel attachment for specific weapons. Can be used by equiping at Loadout screen.

Ammo Capacity - Increases maximum ammo capacity for all weapons.

Vehicle Destruction - Increases damage done to vehicles.

Advance Suppressor - Removes the damage reduction from using suppressors with weapons.

Time to Aim - Reduces the time it takes to aim with weapons when using large scopes.

Ammo Retention - Respawing refills all of your ammo.

Ranged Elite (EPIC SKILL) - Increases weapon accuracy at long range. (must have at least one level of all other skills to obtain)

Drone Skills

These skills are related to your drone, including enemy tagging capabilities and extra abilities you can use with your drone.

Battery Increase - Increases the power of your Drone. Can use the drone for longer. (final boost gives infinite battery power)

Night Vision - Allows the drone to use a night vision scope in low light

Range - Increases the drone's horizontal signal range

Speed - Increases the speed and mobility of the drone

Mark Area - Increases the drone's ability to spot target within your field of view. Can mark more targets easier with higher ranks.

Stealth - Reduces the noise generated by the drone. Makes it harder for enemies to notice and detect when using your drone.

Cooldown - Reduces the time it takes for your to use your drone after using a payload option.

Noisemaker - A drone payload option that emits a noise to distract enemies. Can be equiped in the loadout screen.

Zoom - Increases the amount you can zoom in with your drone.

Explosive - A drone payload option that allows you to detonate your drone and damage enemies nearby.

EMP - A drone payload option that that detonates an EMP, which can knockout nearby electronics (lights, vehichles, generators)

Armor - Increases the amount of damage your drone can take.

Thermal Vision - Enables your drone to use Thermal Vision.

Medic (EPIC SKILL) - A drone payload option that that allows you to detonate your drone and revive nearby allies. (Must have at least one boost on all other skills to obtain)

Item Skills

These skills are related to equipment and items you can use on missions.

Parachute - Enables you to jump out of aircraft and land safely using a parachute.

Binocular Zoom - Increases the maximum zoom of your binoculars

Mine - Enables you to place a mine charge on the ground and destroy enemies that trigger it.

Diverson Lure - A stealth option that allows you to attract enemies to a given location.

Frag Grenade - Enables you to use frag grenades, each rank increases the amount of grenades you can carry.

C4 - Enables the use of C4 expolsives

Binocular Recon - Increases the ability to identify targets when using binoculars.

Thermal Vision - Allows you to use Thermal Vision

Flashbang Grenade - Enables the use of Flash Bang grenades. Each rank increases the number of flash bang grenades you can carry.

Flare Gun - Allows the use of a flare gun, which can attract enemies to a specific location.

Explosion Radius (EPIC SKILL) - Increases the blast radius of explosives. (Must have at least one boost on all other skills to unlock.)

Physical Skills

These skills are related to various stats and abilities of your character.

Stamina - Increases the length of time you can sprint

No Pain - Increases the duration of damage resistance when you are revived

Car Shield - Ground vehicles take less weapon damage.

Quiet Running - Reduces the sound of your running, making it harder for enemies to detect.

Bullet Resistance - Reduces the amount of damage received from bullets.

Detection - Makes it harder for enemeis to spot you when crouched or in a prone position

Explosion Resistance - Reduces the amount of damage received from all explosions.

Aircraft Shield - Aircraft you pilot take less damage from weapons.

Faster Regen (EPIC SKILL) - Recover from injuries faster (must have at least one boost on all other skills to unlock.)

Squad Skills

These skills help boost the abilities of your squad members.

Revive Speed - Increases the speed of teammate revival

Extra Sync Shot - Increases the number of sync shot targets

Trained Rebels - Rebel fighters become more effective fighters (both freed rebels and rebels wandering around)

Squad Resilence - A.I. teammates become more resistant to bullet damage

Bleed Out Time - Increases the amount of time you have before dying while waiting to be revived by an ally.

Born Leader - A.I. teammates become more efficient killers (increases accurancy and effectiveness against enemies)

Last Chance (EPIC SKILL) - Increases the number of times A.I. allies can revive you. (must have at least one boost on all other skills to obtain)

Rebel Support

Rebel Support Skills allow you to call assistance from the nearby Rebel army in Bolivia. To boost each of these abilities, you must complete extra Rebel Side Missions while exploring Bolivia. Every side mission you complete will boost one point of these Rebel Skills by one unit. You can find the locations of Rebel Side Missions by discovering intel, interrogating enemies, or speaking with civilians.

Vehicle Drop-Off - Can call Rebel forces to drop a vehicle in the area. Rank 1 request an SUV, Rank 2 request an Armored vehicle, and Rank 3 request a helicopter.

Guns for Hire - Calls in a group of Rebel fighter to temporarily fight alongside you. Rank 1 has a small group of Rebels, Rank 2 has a medium sized group of Rebels, Rank 3 has a very large group of Rebels.

Mortar - Call in a mortar strike on a given area. Rank 1 has one target mortar strike, Rank 2 has multiple mortar strikes on a target, Rank 3 has multiple mortar strikes over a wide area,

Diversion - Target a position for Rebels to be a diversion against enemies. Rank 1 has a small group of Rebels, Rank 2 has a large group of Rebels, Rank 3 has the largest group of Rebels.

Spotting - Requests the marking of enemies within a given area nearby. Rank 1 recons a small area, Rank 2 recons a large area, Rank 3 recons the largest area. NOTE: Does not mark off intel or objective based items, only enemies within the given area.
