I have thick, blond and dark brown hair on my chin and use a razor almost every morning to get rid of it. I have tons of peach fuzz on my face, as well. I generally need to shave my lower legs and armpits on a daily basis and can feel the stubble of the hair growing back by the late afternoon. I just received my Infinity in the mail today and shaved both legs at the same time. I used the Infinity on my left leg only to compare it with an untreated leg. Although there is still stubble on my left leg, it is far less and a lot more smoother than my right leg which I left untreated. I am happy with my first time use; however, I was wondering if I can continue shaving on a daily basis and/or in between treatments or will that stimulate hair growth and work against the Infinity treatment?

Please refer to the Fitzpatrick scale found on our website to ensure you are a suitable candidate before purchasing. If you think your skin tone falls within the suitable range, you should still use your device with caution; we recommend doing a couple of test flashes with each level, on each area that you plan to treat. For example, if you want to treat your legs - start at Level 1 and do a couple of flashes on your legs. Wait 24-48 hrs and if you do not get a reaction, you should be okay to treat this area at this level. Again, you should follow this protocol with each area, at each level to determine which level you are able to tolerate.

The end result will be that of unnaturally smooth skin vs. a freshly shaven appearance. Treating the neck area, however, has been proven to be quite successful for men – leaving a natural appearance. Results may also take longer for men due to the coarseness of the hair. On average, you should start to see results - bald spots in the area(s) you are treating - around the 6th session. However a typical hair growth cycle may take 18-24 months. During this time, multiple sessions may be required in order to achieve permanent hair removal. Due to hormonal or other physiological changes, dormant hair follicles may become active. Maintenance hair removal sessions may be required from time to time.

Do I need to buy a safety glasses for using the laser??

It is completely safe to use without safetygoggles/glasses and your machine is fitted with an added safety feature that does not allow a flash to go off in mid-air. If you find the light too bright, close your eyes and/or turn your head away for the light during each flash. Some customers prefer to wear their regular sunglasses, but the light emitted is similar to that of a camera flash.

Will it work on auburn hair?

The Infinity Hair removal device uses a combination of galvanic energy and optical light energy that work together to disable the hair root so it does not grow back. Galvanic energy temporarily opens the pores which allows the optical light to treat hair more efficiently. Hair needs to have pigment because that is what will attract the light to heat therefore the ideal candidates have brown to black hair. This technology does not work well on blonde, grey, white or strawberry red hair. If the hair that you are treating is more brown than red, it may be effective.

Yes, you can shave as often as needed between treatments. You will find that the hair will start to grow less and finer. It is always important to shave before treating to get rid of the hair on the surface but keep the follicle and root in tact for effective treatments.

The instructions tell you to use it once every two weeks for the first four treatments and then once every four weeks for the next few treatments. Are you not supposed to shave during that period? Or can you shave as you normally would during that time frame?

You can shave as often as needed during the waiting period. You may notice the hairs growing back less as the treatments go on and won’t need to shave as often as before. It is important to always shave before treating to give the light a clear path to the root.

We do not advise using the Silk’n Infinity or any of our hair removal devices near any orifices. In addition, both the optical light window and the skin tone sensor below it must be flush with the skin in order for a flash to be emitted. For facial use, we advise to use below the cheek bone only. If the brown spots are more lighter in nature, such as a freckle, it should be fine. However, if they are darker and raised like a mole, you will need to cover them with white medical tape which will reflect the light. Use caution and do a test in an inconspicuous area if you are unsure. And always check with you doctor or dermatologist regarding any medical concerns.

How to you select glide or pulse

With theglideoptionyou can hold the trigger button down andglide. As the device is moved the flashes will automatically flash. You can also press the trigger button each time you go over a spot to treat.

I got the Silk’n Infinity laser device and the box has the warning saying “this product can expose you to Bisphenol-A, which is known to the State of California to cause reproductive harm”. Now I am worried if it’s safe to try.

In California Proposition 65 requires manufacturers to put this generic statement on products with BPA. Most products in the market have some level of BPA.Even with the slightest amount of BPA - this statement is required.

I have never had issues with my Infinity, until now. For some odd reason it won’t flash past level 3, no matter the type of hair or the location on my body. Last time I used the Infinity I used it on level 5 and used the glide feature. Now when I press the pulse trigger, the Skin Colour Indicator light flashes quickly. According to the instruction book, it means my skin is too dark for treatment. However, the locations I’m treating are not exposed to the sun. I thought maybe my hair had thinned due to treatments and wasn’t being recognized by the Skin Colour Indicator so I decided to use on another area of my body that still has thick hair. Same problem. I know it hasn’t reached the end of its life because I don’t use it often enough.
