In this video, you will learn how to verify that the power is off before doing electrical work.
In most electrical interventions, the power must be cut for the network concerned.
In order to ensure your safety, you need to confirm that the power is cut.
To do so, you will need a voltage detector.
This verification requires3 steps, which we will explain to you.
STEP 1: VERIFY THAT THE VOLTAGE DETECTOR IS WORKING PROPERLY

Before checking the circuit, make sure the voltmeter is functioning.
Begin by taking the cover off of the electrical panel.
Put the voltmeter between the two inputs at the top of the circuit breaker.
A LED on the voltmeter will light up and indicate the voltage.
STEP 2: DO YOUR VERIFICATION WITH THE VOLTMETER

Turn the power in the circuit off, selecting it on the electrical panel with the circuit breaker.
Verify that the power is off by placing the voltmeter on the two output points at the bottom of the circuit breaker.
The voltmeter will show that there is no voltage if the light does not light up.
STEP 3: RE-VERIFY THAT THE VOLTMETER IS WORKING PROPERLY
STEP 3: RE-VERIFY THAT THE VOLTMETER IS WORKING PROPERLY
This operation will make it possible to confirm that the voltmeter did not malfunction during the prior step.
Verify that the voltmeter is working correctly by positioning it a second time on the two inputs at the top of the circuit breaker.
The voltmeter will light up to give you the voltage value.
